Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The National Agency for Social Protection under the President of Uzbekistan and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), with financial support from the World Bank, have launched an initiative to strengthen the system for responding to violence against women.
The project is being implemented under the “Innovative Social Protection System for the Integration of Vulnerable Groups” (INSON) program.
The initiative aims to improve the quality, accessibility and coordination of services for women and girls who have experienced violence.
The first stage is a four-day training of trainers (ToT), taking place in Tashkent from 15 to 18 September.
The training brings together 20 specialists in psychology, legal assistance and social work. After completing the training, they will conduct cascade training sessions in all 14 regions of the country.
The program focuses on moving from fragmented professional actions to a coordinated interprofessional model in which specialists from different agencies work as a unified system.
Participants are developing skills in risk assessment, safety planning, crisis communication and interagency coordination, including through role-playing exercises and simulations of real-life cases.
The regional stage will be supported by mentoring and supervision from UNFPA experts, helping to consolidate the training outcomes in practice.
