Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Ferghana region and Chungbuk University have agreed to expand cooperation in education, including joint programs, student and faculty exchanges, and research cooperation.

The prospects for further partnership were discussed by Ferghana Region Governor Khayrullo Bozorov and Chungbuk University President Professor Lee Jong-yeol.

Particular attention during the meeting was paid to implementing a joint educational program between the Korean International University in Ferghana and Chungbuk University.

The sides noted the results achieved under the initiative, which provides young people with an opportunity to gain modern knowledge and skills in the Republic of Korea and acquire international educational experience.

The participants agreed to intensify cooperation, expand the range of joint educational programs and begin cooperation in new areas.

Chungbuk University is a four-year higher education institution in the Republic of Korea with a campus in Goyang. The university trains specialists in international business and business administration, international trade, early childhood and special education, architecture and civil engineering, software engineering, game development, information security, information and communications technology, electrical and electronic engineering, automotive engineering, industrial design and other fields.

The university offers citizens of Uzbekistan bachelor’s, master’s and PhD programs. Admission takes into account TOPIK certificates in Korean or IELTS certificates in English. Interviews for applicants are also held in Uzbekistan.

The amount of financial support provided to students depends on their level of knowledge and academic performance. The university offers grants and scholarships that, in some cases, cover up to 100% of tuition fees.

Following the talks, the sides agreed to continue developing the partnership between Ferghana region and Chungbuk University, improve existing joint educational programs and implement new mutually beneficial initiatives.
