Mirziyoyev Lays Wreath at Independence Monument
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Yangi Uzbekistan Park in Tashkent on 28 August 2026 and laid a wreath at the foot of the Independence Monument ahead of the country's 35th anniversary of independence, according to the presidential press service.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Legislative Chamber and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Presidential Administration, the Cabinet of Ministers, and members of the public from Tashkent.
Located within Yangi Uzbekistan Park, the Independence Monument complex depicts the centuries-long history of the Uzbek nation, featuring images of prominent scholars and military leaders alongside key events in the country's history.
The monument is crowned by the Humo bird, a symbol of freedom, goodness, and the noble aspirations of the nation.
