Azerbaijan's Aliyev to visit Uzbekistan on 23–24 August

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev will make a state visit to Uzbekistan on 23–24 August at the invitation of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, with high-level talks and the third meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council scheduled in Tashkent.

The main focus of the talks will be further deepening and expanding Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan strategic partnership and allied relations.

The two leaders will discuss increasing bilateral trade, developing cooperation between enterprises and regions, and making more effective use of opportunities in transport and transit.

The agenda will also include further cultural and humanitarian cooperation. The presidents will exchange views on current international and regional issues and discuss cooperation within multilateral organizations.

The talks are expected to result in the signing of a package of bilateral documents and the launch of a number of economic and humanitarian projects.

The Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan Regions Forum and other joint events are also taking place in Uzbekistan during the visit.
