UAE interested in major long-term projects in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan held a meeting with UAE Minister of Investment Muhammad Hassan Al Suwaidi.
The sides discussed further development of the strategic partnership, expansion of investment cooperation and implementation of joint projects. The Dunyo news agency reported this.
The participants noted the steady development of trade, economic and investment ties between Uzbekistan and the UAE in recent years. At the same time, the sides emphasized opportunities to more actively involve leading Emirati companies and investment institutions in projects across priority sectors of Uzbekistan’s economy.
Muhammad Hassan Al Suwaidi expressed interest in further strengthening the strategic partnership. According to him, one possible area for this could be the implementation of major long-term investment projects in Uzbekistan.
Particular attention was paid to prospects for cooperation in agriculture and the food industry, modern urban development and infrastructure, energy, mining and high-tech industries, as well as other areas.
The sides agreed to intensify direct engagement with leading UAE companies and investment institutions. Priorities include jointly preparing promising investment projects and promoting mutually beneficial initiatives.
The participants also exchanged views on further high-level mutual visits and the organization of joint events. These efforts are expected to contribute to expanding direct contacts between business communities of the two countries.
Following the meeting, the sides confirmed their readiness to make more effective use of the potential of the strategic partnership and give investment cooperation additional practical substance.
