Uzbekistan Brings Back 11 Children Left Without Care Abroad

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has brought back 11 minor citizens who had been left without parental care abroad over the past week, the National Agency for Social Protection said.

Nine of the children returned from the Russian Federation, while two were brought back from Kazakhstan.

The children were returned by a working group comprising representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Health and the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of Uzbekistan.

The operation was carried out with the assistance of the Children’s Ombudsman and in cooperation with the competent authorities of the respective foreign countries.

Following their return to Uzbekistan, measures are being taken to protect the children’s rights and legitimate interests. The work is focused in particular on returning the minors to a family environment and providing them with the necessary social services and assistance.

The further circumstances of the returned children and their adaptation within their families will be monitored through social support provided by Inson social service centers in their places of residence.
