Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on 15 September in the Republic of Korea with Kim Beom-ho, acting president of Incheon International Airport Corporation. The sides discussed prospects for expanding cooperation and implementing joint projects in the aviation sector, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan said.
The meeting reviewed the progress of projects to modernize Urgench International Airport and construct a new international airport in Tashkent.
The sides supported plans by Incheon International Airport Corporation to open an office in Tashkent. The President of Uzbekistan proposed establishing a center of excellence on its basis for airport management, digitalization and personnel training.
The Korean side expressed its readiness to continue actively participating in joint projects, introduce advanced experience and modern technologies in airport management, and develop a long-term partnership with Uzbekistan.
