Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Ferghana region Governor Khayrullo Bozorov met with Jin Gyo-hun, head of Seoul's Gangseo district, to discuss prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation in trade and the economy, investment, innovation and education, the Ferghana regional administration said.
The talks focused particularly on exchanging experience in innovation and high technology, as well as opportunities to develop educational ties.
Gangseo, located in western Seoul, is one of the dynamically developing districts of the South Korean capital. It is characterised by modern transport and social infrastructure, along with significant research and innovation potential.
One of the district's key sites is the Magok innovation cluster. The area, previously used mainly for agricultural purposes, was transformed by the Seoul government into a modern cluster bringing together high-tech companies, research centres, business facilities, residential complexes and social infrastructure.
The participants discussed the possibility of studying Magok's experience, establishing direct contacts between innovation and technology companies, and implementing prospective investment projects.
Bozorov presented information on Ferghana region's economic and investment potential and the opportunities created in the region for foreign investors. He also invited business representatives from Gangseo to actively cooperate with Ferghana region.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to develop bilateral ties consistently and identify specific areas for further cooperation.
