Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on 11 September, discussing the further development of bilateral relations, with a focus on trade, economic and investment cooperation, the Uzbek president’s press service said.

The sides noted the need to intensify work on new joint projects in industrial cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to improving transport and logistics connectivity between Central Asia and the South Caucasus. Mirziyoyev advocated further development of logistics networks and transport corridors linking the two regions.

The Uzbek president also highly praised efforts to reach a peace agreement as soon as possible, which, according to the statement, should provide a strong foundation for regional stability and sustainable development.

Mirziyoyev and Pashinyan also reviewed the schedule of upcoming bilateral and multilateral events, including those held within the framework of the United Nations and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
