Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) discussed potential areas of cooperation, including financing a project to develop climate-resilient water supply and sanitation systems.
The meeting between Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Ahadbek Khaydarov and ADB representatives was held on 8 September, the Public Relations and Communications Department of the Ministry of Economy and Finance said.
The talks were attended by Mirzo Iskandar Gulamov, ADB Country Operations Head, Srinivas Sampath, Director of Water Supply and Urban Development, and other bank representatives.
The main focus was on financing the Climate-Resilient Water Supply and Sanitation Systems Development project, which is planned to be implemented with ADB participation.
The project envisages the development of water supply and sanitation services in Andijan and Ferghana regions, as well as the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
The meeting also addressed new potential areas of cooperation. The sides exchanged proposals and ideas concerning prospective projects and joint initiatives.
The talks provided a platform for further discussions on cooperation between Uzbekistan and ADB within the framework of prospective projects.
