Turtkul Railway Station Reopens After Reconstruction

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A reconstructed railway station has reopened in Turtkul ahead of Uzbekistan’s 35th anniversary of state independence, offering passengers upgraded facilities and services, the press service of O‘ztemiryo‘lyo‘lovchi JSC said.

The Turtkul railway station was built in 2001 and underwent a complete reconstruction in 2026. The work included renovations to the interior and exterior of the building, the creation of a modern waiting hall and the installation of new seating.

The station now has an electronic information display providing passengers with up-to-date information on train movements. Free Wi-Fi is also available to visitors.

For the first time, the station has a modern VIP lounge for passengers waiting for trains and offering a higher level of service.

The reconstruction also included facilities for passengers with disabilities and limited mobility. Special trolleys have been provided to assist with luggage transportation.

The surrounding area was also improved and landscaped. Retail outlets, an ATM, communications services and office facilities have been arranged on the station premises.

Turtkul station remains an important railway infrastructure facility in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. It serves an average of 150 to 200 passengers a day.

On average, four passenger trains arrive at and depart from the station each day.

Following the reconstruction, the station is intended to provide passengers with more modern, safe and comfortable services.
