Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and China have discussed aligning their construction regulations and technical standards, as well as the possibility of gradually recognising each other's standards.

The issues were addressed at an international technical seminar on engineering and construction standards organised at the initiative of Chinese company CAMCE.

The event brought together representatives of relevant ministries, research institutions and engineering companies from both countries.

Uzbekistan was represented by Rustam Kochkorov, director of the Research Institute of Technical Regulation and Standardisation under the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services.

Participants conducted a comparative analysis of the construction regulations and technical requirements currently in force in the two countries. Particular attention was paid to differences between their regulatory frameworks, opportunities to address these discrepancies and the harmonisation of requirements in the construction sector.

The two sides also considered the prospects for gradually recognising each other's standards and expanding bilateral scientific and technical cooperation.

Other areas discussed included applying international experience in national practice, improving the safety and quality of construction projects, and further developing the sector's regulatory and technical framework.
