Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — 11Uzbekistan has amended its rules on the installation of Radar warning signs, limiting the requirement to fixed speed cameras and removing it for mobile devices.
The changes were introduced by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 596 dated 29 October 2026.
Under the revised rules, a warning sign must be installed 250 to 500 metres ahead of a fixed speed camera. The previous reference to mobile devices has been removed from the relevant provision.
Amendments have also been made to Clause 5.43 of the Traffic Rules.
The updated regulations therefore require drivers to be warned about the locations of fixed speed enforcement cameras, but do not extend this obligation to mobile devices.
Previously, the procedure was governed by Clause 9 of Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 318 dated 15 May 2025. It required Radar signs to be installed on road sections equipped with fixed speed cameras. The requirement took effect on 1 September 2025.
The latest changes come amid the expansion of the use of road cameras.
From 1 November 2026, businesses have been allowed to use privately owned cameras to record cases in which drivers and passengers fail to wear seat belts.
