Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A court in Tashkent has sentenced actress Nilufar Khamidova to seven days of administrative arrest for petty hooliganism. The case was heard on 5 November by the Yunusabad District Criminal Court.

According to the court's ruling, Khamidova, born in 1978, was found guilty of an administrative offence under Article 183 of Uzbekistan's Code of Administrative Responsibility.

The case was prompted by a video that circulated on social media. The footage shows the actress at a bus stop in Tashkent, performing sexually suggestive actions and using vulgar language.

According to available information, an underage girl was nearby during the filming.

After the video spread online, Khamidova was summoned to law enforcement authorities. Following an investigation, the case materials were referred to court.

Earlier, the actress apologized for her behaviour and said she would no longer publish similar content. She also announced plans to pursue blogging.

Commenting on the incident, Uzbekistan's Ministry of Culture said that the matter did not fall within the ministry's remit. The ministry added that law enforcement authorities had already taken the necessary measures.
