Uzbekistan Tests Chinese High-Speed Train in Andijan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has begun testing a modern Chinese-made high-speed train that has arrived in the Andijan region. The train can reach speeds of up to 160 km/h and carry up to 415 passengers at a time, the Andijan regional administration said.

Once the new service is launched, the train is expected to cover the distance between Tashkent and Andijan in approximately three hours.

The tests are being conducted as part of the train’s trial operation. The new train is being considered as a modern passenger transport option connecting the capital with Andijan.

The launch of high-speed services is expected to improve transport connectivity between Tashkent and Andijan and provide passengers with faster and more convenient journeys.

The new route will also help increase mobility between the regions and make rail travel more efficient.
