Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Competition Committee is examining passenger rights and compensation payments for flight delays caused by carriers.
More than 300 consumer complaints related to air transport services were submitted to the Committee in the first half of 2026. This was 4.1 times higher than in the same period last year.
The complaints cited cases involving flight delays of several hours, the untimely provision of accurate information to passengers, poor-quality services and charges for services that were not actually provided.
An analysis conducted by the Committee showed that, in some cases, passengers on flights delayed due to the carrier’s fault were not offered compensation or alternative solutions. The agency noted that such situations could affect people’s time, expenses and plans.
The Committee is currently studying, based on open sources, the practice of compensating passengers for domestic flight delays caused by carriers, as well as issues related to consumer rights protection.
Airlines are advised to ensure that information on their digital platforms is complete and complies with legal requirements.
The Committee is inviting citizens to submit their proposals and comments on passenger services and the protection of their rights.
