Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Embassy in China, together with the Vatandoshlar public foundation, held a celebration marking the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence with the participation of Uzbek compatriots living in China, Dunyо News Agency reported.
The event was attended by students at Chinese universities, Uzbek citizens working in China and other members of the Uzbek community. Held under the motto “Independent Uzbekistan – My Pride,” the ceremony opened with the national anthem.
Participants were briefed on large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan across various sectors, the growth of foreign investment, the development of the tourism industry and measures to support young people.
Particular attention was given to the development of relations between Uzbekistan and China. The event highlighted the dynamics of political, trade and economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.
The participants also discussed the role of independence in ensuring peace and protecting the rights and interests of citizens. It was noted that human dignity and improving the population’s well-being are at the centre of the ongoing reforms.
The celebration programme also featured a Zakovat intellectual quiz organised among Uzbek compatriots.
Participants tested their knowledge and general awareness, while the winners received commemorative gifts.
The programme concluded with national dishes and musical performances. Honoured Artist of Uzbekistan Anvar Ganiev performed live, creating a festive atmosphere for the participants.
