Mirziyoyev and Modi hold talks in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A ceremonial welcome for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in Uzbekistan on a state visit, was held at the Kuksaroy residence on 30 August. He was welcomed by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Uzbek presidential press service said.
Mirziyoyev warmly greeted Modi and invited him to the podium. During the ceremony, the national flags of Uzbekistan and India were raised and an honor guard was formed.
The national anthems of Uzbekistan and India were played. Mirziyoyev and Modi then inspected the honor guard and greeted members of the official delegations from the two countries.
The two leaders subsequently took a joint photograph. High-level talks began after the ceremony.
The Indian prime minister’s state visit to Uzbekistan is taking place at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
