Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan Discuss Internal Affairs Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan Minister of Internal Affairs Aziz Tashpulatov met with the newly appointed Ambassador of Azerbaijan Rashad Eynaddin ogly Mammadov on 20 August 2026 to discuss bilateral law enforcement cooperation, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, both sides highlighted the ongoing development of friendly relations, mutual trust, and strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

The discussion focused primarily on collaboration in maintaining public order and safety. The officials discussed sharing operational expertise in combating crime, terrorism, extremism, transnational organized crime, drug trafficking, and cybercrime.

Following the meeting, representatives from Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation between their respective internal affairs organs and outlined prospective tasks to advance bilateral engagement.
