Uzbekistan plans uniforms for court administration staff
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan plans to introduce special uniforms for court administration staff who have the relevant official status. A design for the new uniform has already been presented to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbekistan 24 television reported.
According to the designs presented, the uniform will be dark blue. The men's version includes trousers, while the women's version includes a skirt, along with a light-coloured shirt and a blue tie. The uniform will feature shoulder boards and a judicial system emblem on the left sleeve.
A lighter version without a jacket has been designed for the summer season, consisting of a short-sleeved shirt.
The special clothing is intended for court administration employees with the relevant official status. The uniform designs and rules governing their use are to be approved in a separate departmental document.
As noted during the presentation, a draft of the document is planned to be prepared by June 2027. The special uniform is intended to make it easier for citizens to identify court administration staff and is expected to contribute to greater professional accountability among employees.
Judges themselves have worn special judicial attire since 2019. That year, the Senate of the Oliy Majlis approved the designs and descriptions of judicial robes. The state budget allocated 500 million soums for the development and introduction of the robes.
Under current rules, judges conduct court hearings wearing robes with a jabot tie. The Constitutional Court uses dark burgundy robes, while other courts across the country use dark blue robes.
