Uzbekistan Expands U.S. Cooperation Under H-2A Program

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's Migration Agency has signed a cooperation agreement with another U.S. recruitment company specializing in the placement of foreign agricultural workers.

The agreement provides for the training and employment of Uzbek citizens in seasonal agricultural jobs in the United States under the H-2A visa program.

According to the Migration Agency, the agreement is aimed at expanding cooperation in organized labour migration and creating additional opportunities for the legal employment of Uzbek citizens.

Under the project, the parties plan to develop training programmes based on the requirements of U.S. employers, provide English language and vocational training for candidates, introduce a system for assessing practical skills and joint certification, and establish transparent mechanisms for the selection and deployment of workers.

Under the agreement, the Migration Agency will be responsible for selecting candidates, providing training on U.S. labour legislation and working conditions, and ensuring the timely return of Uzbek citizens to their home country after completing seasonal work.

The agency said information on the first requests from U.S. employers for seasonal agricultural workers, as well as details on candidate registration procedures, will be published on the Migration Agency's "Xorijda ish" Telegram channel.
