Uzbekistan to Distribute Presidential Gifts to First-Graders

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Ministry of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan has begun delivering "Presidential Gift" school supply kits for children who will start school for the first time in 2026.

The ministry said the kits will be delivered to all regions of the country by 15 August 2026 and distributed to schools by 25 August 2026 based on the number of enrolled first-grade pupils.

More than 795,000 children are expected to enter first grade this year. As of 5 August 2026, about 680,000 future first-graders had already been enrolled, representing 85% of the planned intake.

Each "Presidential Gift" kit contains 12 types of school supplies: a backpack, 12 exercise books with 12 pages each, a pen, two pencils, a set of 12 coloured pencils, coloured paper, modelling clay, a drawing pad, two erasers, a set of watercolour paints, glue and a pencil case.

According to the ministry, the kits will be presented to pupils after ceremonial school assemblies.

The "Presidential Gifts" will also be provided to pupils attending non-state schools, as well as educational institutions administered by other ministries and government agencies.
