Uzbekistan, Türkiye to Expand Tourism Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Chairman of Uzbekistan's Tourism Committee Abdulaziz Akkulov met with Türkiye's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan, Ufuk Ulutaş, to discuss the further development of bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector.
The talks focused on increasing two-way tourist flows, expanding cooperation between tour operators and airlines, and implementing joint investment and marketing projects.
The sides also discussed developing the tourism sector's workforce. In particular, they considered organising professional training and experience-sharing programmes for Uzbekistan's hospitality specialists in Istanbul and Antalya, as well as expanding educational and applied research cooperation with Cappadocia University.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to take bilateral cooperation to a new level by strengthening ties among tourism organisations, tour operators, airlines, educational institutions and travel agencies, as well as by holding joint forums, business-to-business meetings and implementing investment projects.
The Turkish side was also invited to participate with a national pavilion at the Silk Road International Tourism Fair, which will be held in Tashkent in November 2026.
