Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Authorities in Namangan have identified 13,184 units of medical products lacking proper documentation and quality guarantees, with a total value of 577.381 million soums. The operational measure was conducted jointly by officers of the State Security Service, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, and the Customs Committee.

During an inspection of a house in the city of Namangan carried out in the presence of witnesses, 56 types of pharmaceuticals were discovered.

According to law enforcement agencies, a citizen born in 1996 was storing the drugs in violation of sanitary regulations for subsequent sale.

Among the seized medicines were Cefotaxime, Bifidumbakterin, Atropine, Tidomet Forte, and other pharmaceuticals.

According to the appraisal report, their total value amounted to 577 million 381 thousand soums.

It was established that the drugs were stored in premises used as an illegal warehouse. According to the agencies, the pharmaceuticals were brought into the country from a neighboring republic through bypass routes.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated against the individual under Paragraph "a" of Part 3 of Article 186-3 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan. Investigative actions are currently underway.

Citizens have been urged to report such violations to the State Security Service via the short code 1520.
