Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has been elected to chair the Coordination Council of Heads of Tax Services of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in 2027. The decision was made on 23 October at the council’s 33rd meeting in Dushanbe.
Participants discussed the use of artificial intelligence in tax systems, improvements to tax risk management and ways to increase the efficiency of tax administration.

The presentation included solutions for automating tax administration, analysing large datasets, identifying potential violations and improving services for taxpayers.
To expand cooperation, Uzbekistan proposed a “Technological Partnership of CIS Tax Services” initiative. It envisages exchanging digital solutions, holding joint scientific and practical events, providing training and internships for specialists, and developing model provisions for the use of artificial intelligence.
Uzbekistan also proposed establishing a dedicated working group on AI within the Coordination Council.
During discussions on tax risk management, Uzbek representatives shared their experience of using analytical tools to identify potential violations in a timely manner, prevent budget losses and reduce the administrative burden on compliant taxpayers.
