Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Around 350 fifth-grade mathematics teachers from 220 schools in Tashkent and Tashkent Region are taking part in a nine-day seminar on using the Finnish digital education platform Eduten.

The training is being held at the A. Avloni National Institute of Pedagogical Mastery as part of the “Transformation of School Education to Support Economic Growth” (BILIM) programme, with financial support from the World Bank. The World Bank reported the development.

Eduten is an artificial intelligence-based digital education platform with gamification elements designed to develop mathematics skills. According to the World Bank, more than 2 million students and teachers in over 50 countries use the platform.

During the seminar, teachers are learning how to use Eduten in mathematics lessons. They are being trained to create interactive assignments, support students throughout the learning process and monitor their progress.

The platform's analytics allow teachers to identify students' strengths and determine in a timely manner which topics may require additional support.

Students, in turn, will be able to learn at their own pace, reinforce material they have studied and receive feedback.

The BILIM programme is aimed at improving the quality of primary education and developing children's foundational skills, including reading, mathematics and social-emotional skills. Its total funding amounts to US$378 million.

By 2030, the programme aims to strengthen the teaching and management capacity of around 50,000 teachers, school leaders and education system specialists.
