Authorities Explain Demolition of House in Denau District

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A residential house in Denau district of Surkhandarya region has been demolished after being built on irrigated agricultural land.

The Bureau of Mandatory Enforcement said the demolition was carried out under a court ruling that had entered into force, while the regional administration said new housing would be built for the citizen.

The Surkhandarya regional department of the Bureau of Mandatory Enforcement said.

According to the agency, the enforcement document was issued based on a ruling by the Denau Interdistrict Civil Court dated 29 December 2025. The court ordered the release of 0.20 hectares of irrigated agricultural land that had been illegally occupied in the Galaba massif in the Chukurkishlak mahalla.

The court also ordered the demolition of the residential house and other illegal structures and the restoration of the land to its original condition.

Enforcement proceedings were launched on 24 January 2026. According to the Bureau of Mandatory Enforcement, the debtors were properly notified of the requirement to comply with the court ruling. Enforcement actions had previously been temporarily suspended under a court ruling and were later resumed.

As the requirements of the enforcement document were not fulfilled voluntarily, compulsory enforcement measures were carried out on 7 August. The illegal structures specified in the court ruling were subsequently demolished.

The Bureau of Mandatory Enforcement also denied reports that authorities had attempted to demolish the house without prior warning.

Meanwhile, the Surkhandarya regional administration said the situation was under the personal supervision of the regional governor. Officials met with the citizen and subsequently examined the circumstances of the case.

According to the regional administration, the demolished house was located on the territory of a farming enterprise, on a field adjacent to the citizen’s land plot, for which cadastral documents are available.

Authorities said the citizen’s interests would not be ignored. In particular, a new house will be built for him.

The resolution of the housing issue remains under the administration’s supervision in accordance with legal requirements.
