Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan registered 23,163 active artisans as of 1 July 2026, with the capital city of Tashkent accounting for the largest regional share at 2,987 individuals, according to data released by the National Committee on Statistics.

Fergana region ranked second nationally with 2,743 registered active artisans. Significant artisan concentrations were also reported in Samarkand region with 2,209, Andijan region with 2,113, and Namangan region with 2,048.

Central and southern regions maintained moderate artisan registries: Khorezm region recorded 1,919 active artisans, Tashkent region reported 1,830, Kashkadarya region registered 1,547, and Bukhara region counted 1,530.

Lower totals were recorded in Surkhandarya region with 1,170 registered artisans, the Republic of Karakalpakstan with 1,121, and Jizzakh region with 1,032.

The lowest figures nationwide were recorded in Syrdarya and Navoiy regions, with 462 and 452 active artisans respectively.
