Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The volume of market services in Uzbekistan's Namangan Region reached 49.6 trillion soums in January-September 2026, increasing by 15% compared with the same period last year.

A total of 232.7 billion soums was allocated from the republican budget to develop the region's services sector, the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan said.

Projects implemented under the programme have resulted in the establishment of more than 385 new businesses, while over 295 existing enterprises have expanded their operations. More than 1,950 new jobs have also been created.

The programme has brought several infrastructure projects into operation across the region, including three waterfront areas, 10 busy streets, six roadside areas, five recreational parks and seven tourism and other projects.

One of the key developments is a 24/7 street in Namangan city. A 2-kilometre section covering Lutfiy, U. Nosir and Bank streets and passing through the Obihayot mahalla has been transformed into a modern retail and services area. The project received 4.9 billion soums from the republican budget.

As part of the reconstruction, 20,000 square metres of pedestrian pathways, with a total length of 8 kilometres, were renovated. The project also included the installation of 50 benches, construction of 3 kilometres of irrigation systems and installation of 5 kilometres of drainage channels. The lake in the park area was also modernised.

To improve lighting and electricity supply, 400 streetlights were installed, 3 kilometres of power lines were laid and two transformer substations with a capacity of 400 kVA each were commissioned. A dedicated enclosed waste collection area was also established.

Following the redevelopment, 30 new businesses opened along the renovated street, creating more than 120 jobs.

The area now hosts retail shops, restaurants and consumer services facilities, alongside designated spaces for recreation and walking. Daily visitor numbers have increased from 2,500 to 4,600.

Namangan Region plans to continue expanding its services infrastructure through the end of 2026. The programme includes eight waterfront areas, 19 busy streets, 12 roadside areas, five recreational parks and seven tourism facilities and streets.

These projects are expected to create more than 450 new businesses and support the expansion of over 200 existing enterprises. Around 2,100 additional jobs are planned.
