Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and China are expanding cooperation in agricultural education. Tashkent State Agrarian University and the Andijan Institute of Agriculture and Agrotechnologies have signed memorandums of cooperation with China’s Shaanxi A&F University of Science and Technology.

The agreements were signed at a forum in Yangling attended by an Uzbek delegation comprising representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, higher education institutions under its jurisdiction and the Lola Murotova specialised agricultural technical school.

The forum brings together specialists from Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states to exchange experience in agriculture.

Joint educational programmes with the Chinese university are planned for all higher education institutions within Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Agriculture system. Agreements have also been reached on professional development programmes in China for academic and teaching staff.

During the visit, members of the Uzbek delegation viewed modern innovative technologies showcased in Yangling’s high-tech agricultural industry demonstration zone.
