Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has discussed measures to improve pasture management, preserve natural landscapes and develop livestock farming.
The meeting was attended by Nurriddin Koshnazarov, an adviser to the minister of agriculture; Ulugbek Islamov, head of the project “Integrated Management for the Conservation and Restoration of High-Value Landscapes in Uzbekistan”; and international expert Sarah Robinson.
Participants reviewed initiatives aimed at the sustainable use of pastureland, the conservation and restoration of natural areas, and support for livestock farms. Particular attention was paid to strengthening cooperation among relevant organisations and ensuring the consistent implementation of planned measures.
The talks also addressed the implementation of tasks set out in Uzbekistan’s presidential resolution No. PP-374 of 14 October this year, “On Additional Measures for the Efficient Use of Pastureland and State Support for Livestock Farms”.
The sides reviewed the project’s current status, work completed and results achieved. Key priorities include conserving landscapes of high ecological and economic value, ensuring the sustainable use of natural resources and strengthening ecological balance in rural areas.
Following the meeting, participants exchanged views on further implementation of the assigned tasks and continuation of the project.
