Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan is expanding international cooperation to train skilled workers for the transport and logistics sector.

The issues were discussed at the fifth meeting of the DARYA project’s High-Level Group, held in Ashgabat under the organisation of the European Training Foundation (ETF) and with the support of the European Union.

Uzbekistan’s delegation was led by Alisher Muratov, deputy minister of poverty reduction and employment.

Participants discussed the development of national qualifications systems, the introduction of professional standards and cooperation with Lithuania on certification under the Code 95 system.

The agenda also included the development of green skills and the exchange of experience in electric transport.

Particular attention was paid to training specialists for the transport and logistics sector and the mutual recognition of qualification certificates among countries in the region.

These areas are seen as important for improving the quality of vocational education and expanding employment opportunities for skilled workers.

Following the meeting, the sides agreed on a regional roadmap for skills development. The document is intended to promote further cooperation in vocational education and workforce training for the transport industry.
