Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Rain expected on 11–12 October could trigger mudflows and floods in foothill and mountainous areas of Uzbekistan, with some areas also at risk of flooding, UzHydromet said.

Residents and visitors to the affected areas have been urged to take precautions due to the forecast precipitation.

The warning covers specific districts in nine regions of the country.

In Tashkent region, mudflow and flood risks are possible in Akhangaran, Bostanlyk, Parkent, Pskent, Urtachirchik and Yukorichirchik districts, as well as in the cities of Angren and Almalyk.

In Samarkand region, the areas at possible risk include Urgut, Samarkand, Bulungur, Nurabad, Koshrabad, Kattakurgan, Payarik, Jambay and Ishtikhan districts.

In Jizzakh region, the warning applies to Zaamin, Bakhmal, Gallaorol, Sharaf-Rashidov, Farish and Yangiabad districts.

In Namangan region, mudflow and flood events are possible in Pap, Kasansay, Chartak, Chust, Namangan and Yangikurgan districts. In Ferghana region, the areas listed are Sokh, Shahimardan, Ferghana and Besharyk districts.

In Andijan region, the warning covers Andijan, Asaka, Jalakuduk, Kurgantepa, Pakhtaabad, Izboskan, Khojaabad and Marhamat districts, as well as the city of Khanabad.

In Navoi region, adverse weather events are possible in Khatyrchi, Navbahor, Nurata, Kanimekh and Karmana districts.

In Kashkadarya region, the list includes Yakkabag, Dehkanabad, Chirakchi, Kitab, Shakhrisabz, Kamashi and Guzar districts.

In Surkhandarya region, the warning applies to Sariosiyo, Uzun, Altynsay, Denau, Baysun, Sherabad, Shurchi, Kumkurgan and Muzrabad districts.
