Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A batch of medicines and biologically active supplements worth around 400 million soums was discovered in the basement of a residential building in Tashkent district. The Tashkent Region hokimiyat said.

The operation was conducted by officers of the Internal Security Operational Service of the Customs Department together with the Department for Combating Smuggling and the Tashkent Region Department of the State Security Service.

As part of the operation, a residential building in the Bunyodkor mahalla of Tashkent district was inspected in accordance with established procedures. The inspection was carried out in the presence of witnesses and participants in the operation.

In the basement, officers found medicines and biologically active supplements representing 25 types. A total of 1,913 units of products were discovered.

The inspection established that the medicines found did not have medical certificates. The products were seized in accordance with established procedures as material evidence.

According to a preliminary assessment, the total value of the discovered products is around 400 million soums.

The customs authorities are conducting an inquiry into the discovery of the products.
