Ferghana Authorities Stop Attempt to Send Two Women to Moscow

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Officers from Uzbekistan’s State Security Service, working with internal affairs authorities, stopped an attempt to send two women from Ferghana to Moscow for the purpose of involving them in prostitution, the State Security Service said.

According to law enforcement authorities, a previously convicted Ferghana resident born in 1999 offered the two women an opportunity to travel to Moscow to earn money through prostitution.

The man promised to pay for their air tickets but, after their arrival in the Russian capital, planned to demand half of the income they earned.

He was detained at Ferghana International Airport while the women were being sent to Moscow. The operation prevented the man’s alleged illegal activities.

A criminal case has been opened against the detainee. Law enforcement authorities are currently conducting investigative proceedings.
