Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Senate of Uzbekistan’s Oliy Majlis will hold its 19th plenary session on 10 September 2026, following a decision made at a meeting of the Senate Council.

The Council reviewed issues proposed for inclusion on the agenda of the upcoming plenary session.

Senators are expected to consider a number of legislative initiatives, including amendments to legislation governing the use of the Uzbek Latin-based alphabet, consumer rights protection and the activities of the National Guard.

The agenda also includes a law on the ratification of protocols introducing amendments to the Convention on International Civil Aviation.

A separate group of issues concerns the country’s administrative and territorial structure. Senators will consider proposals to change the boundaries of the city of Zarafshan and Tamdy district in Navoi region, as well as Qiziriq and Jarkurgan districts in Surkhandarya region.

The plenary session is also expected to consider a proposal to send a parliamentary inquiry to the Cabinet of Ministers regarding the state of regulation of land and property relations.

The agenda further includes the results of a parliamentary inquiry into measures to strengthen the institution of the family and prevent cases of divorce.

At the end of the session, senators will consider the approval of resolutions adopted by the Council of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.
