Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a Chinese delegation led by Liu Haixing, head of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, on 7 September. The sides agreed to prepare a joint roadmap to develop interparliamentary and interparty cooperation.

Liu Haixing conveyed greetings and best wishes to Mirziyoyev from Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The sides discussed further expanding multifaceted cooperation and practical interaction between the two countries in line with agreements reached at the highest level.

During the talks, the sides noted the high level of Uzbek-Chinese relations, which they described as an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership.

Particular attention was paid to economic ties. In recent years, bilateral trade and investment have continued to grow steadily, while the number of joint projects and enterprises involving leading Chinese companies has also increased.

The sides also emphasized the need to further strengthen interparliamentary and interparty contacts.

The meeting also covered cooperation in higher and vocational education. In particular, the importance of opening branches of leading Chinese higher education institutions in Uzbekistan was highlighted.

Following the talks, the sides agreed to adopt a joint roadmap aimed at expanding interparliamentary and interparty cooperation between Uzbekistan and China.
