Father and Two Sons Drown at Charvak Reservoir

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A man and his two sons drowned at Charvak Reservoir in Bostanlyk district of Tashkent Region while taking a boat trip, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations said.

The incident occurred on 2 September near the Burchmulla mahalla. According to the ministry, the family arrived at the reservoir for a boat trip. Later, the father and his two sons entered the water in an area where swimming is prohibited.

They were not wearing life jackets.

After receiving information about the incident, rescue divers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations began a search operation. The search is being conducted across an area within a 2–2.5 km radius of the presumed location of the incident. The necessary personnel and equipment have been deployed.

The search operation is complicated by the large area being surveyed and the considerable depth of Charvak Reservoir.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations continues the search operation and is keeping the situation under control.
