Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Representatives of Uzbekistan have won two gold medals and one silver at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games in rowing and shooting.
In the lightweight rowing LM2x event, Shahzod Nurmatov and Sobirjon Safaraliyev crossed the finish line first to secure another gold medal for the Uzbek team.
This year, Nurmatov and Safaraliyev also became world champions.
Another gold medal for Uzbekistan was won by Vladimir Svechnikov, who claimed victory in the 10-meter air pistol event. This marked the country’s first gold medal in shooting at the Asian Games in 32 years.
Svechnikov also set an Asian Games record with a score of 244.3 points.
Uzbekistan also won a silver medal in rowing. In the women’s W2- event, Aidana Smetullaeva and Anna Aksyonova finished second.
