Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A Uzbek-Afghan business forum and B2B meetings involving representatives of the business community of Uzbekistan’s Khorezm region were held in Mazar-i-Sharif and Sheberghan, Dunyo news agency reported.

The Khorezm delegation was led by Alisher Duschanov, deputy governor of the region. The participants included entrepreneurs working in agriculture, the textile and food industries, construction materials production and carpet manufacturing.

During the talks, the sides discussed opportunities to increase bilateral trade and implement joint projects. Priority areas included agriculture, poultry farming, the textile and food industries, and construction materials production.

The chambers of trade and investment of Balkh and Jawzjan provinces expressed their readiness to expand economic ties with Uzbek partners and increase trade volumes.

During the B2B talks, businesses from the two countries signed a number of agreements. The documents cover cooperation in agriculture, the textile industry, grain and flour production, food products and construction materials.

An exhibition of products from Uzbek and Afghan manufacturers was also held as part of the events.

Following the meetings, the sides agreed to organize a business mission of entrepreneurs from Balkh and Jawzjan provinces to the Khorezm region in November. The parties plan to continue negotiations and agree on specific investment projects.
