Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has received 150 head of Simmental breeding cattle from Austria.
The shipment was delivered by Navoiy - Agro Star, a company established by the Uzagrostar holding, as part of a project to develop breeding livestock and increase household incomes.
The project is being implemented jointly with the Centre for Research on Industry Markets and Labour Productivity under the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
The Simmental breed is classified as a dual-purpose beef and dairy breed and is known for its high productivity, endurance and ability to adapt to various climatic conditions.
According to the project organizers, all breeding cattle delivered from Austria are planned to be provided to the population at cost, without a markup. This is expected to expand opportunities for developing breeding livestock among households.
The increase in the number of breeding cattle is expected to improve livestock productivity and create additional opportunities for the development of the sector.
