Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Agriculture Minister Ibrahim Abdurakhmonov met with Türkiye’s Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumakli to discuss new areas of bilateral cooperation in agriculture.
The talks covered the current state of cooperation, existing opportunities and joint projects planned for further implementation, Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Agriculture said.
The sides agreed to focus particular attention on further developing agricultural partnership, including preparations for the next meeting of the working group on cooperation in agriculture.
Priority areas include livestock development and strengthening the feed base, expanding cooperation in seed production and developing drought-resistant crop varieties.
The meeting also addressed efforts to increase the number of entrepreneurs involved in mutual trade in agricultural products. The sides discussed the development of fisheries and expansion of scientific ties between the two countries.
During the visit, the Turkish delegation led by Ibrahim Yumakli, together with Ibrahim Abdurakhmonov, visited Tashkent State Agrarian University.
The delegation members familiarized themselves with the conditions for student education, the university’s modern infrastructure and its work to train young specialists.
