Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the operations of Eco Cotton, a knitwear manufacturer in Andijan District. The project was implemented under a presidential resolution dated 29 June 2026 aimed at supporting the deep processing of cotton fiber.
The enterprise produces environmentally friendly textile products from locally sourced raw materials that meet international standards. Its products are supplied to both domestic and foreign markets.
The entrepreneur invested US$10 million in the project and created 1,000 permanent jobs. Once the enterprise reaches full production capacity, annual state budget revenues are expected to amount to 25 billion soums.
A dual education system has been introduced at the enterprise to improve employees’ skills. Young people receive theoretical knowledge alongside practical training directly at the production site.
Production processes are organized in line with modern standards. The enterprise has installed the latest-generation automated conveyor equipment manufactured in China, while all processes are managed through a digital system.
Particular attention is paid to environmental requirements. Production waste is sent for recycling, helping reduce its impact on the environment.
One of the enterprise’s features is the use of artificial intelligence-powered sewing machines. The intelligent system automatically adjusts the sewing process in real time depending on the type of fabric, ensuring the accuracy and quality of seams. Humanoid robots are also being used experimentally in production.
Eco Cotton has an annual production capacity of 9.4 million units across 30 types of knitwear. The total value of its output reaches 135.3 billion soums. Due to its cost efficiency and product quality, the enterprise can compete with manufacturers from Türkiye, Vietnam, China and India.
The enterprise’s annual export potential is estimated at US$10.5 million. Knitwear produced in Andijan Region is exported to Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Romania and Moldova.
During the visit, Shavkat Mirziyoyev also spoke with the enterprise’s employees.
The president was presented with information on work with young people in the region, including vocational training and foreign-language education, employment opportunities and support for young people’s entrepreneurial initiatives.
