Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the activities of the Andijan-Huanya International Technical College located in the Silk Road industrial zone in Andijan district, the presidential press service reported.
The college was established to train qualified specialists for textile, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and other high-tech industries operating in the industrial zone.
The project was fully financed through foreign investment. Its total value is US$15 million, and 150 new jobs have been created.
The college occupies an area of four hectares. A modern academic building with a capacity of 5,000 students has been constructed on the site. At the next stage, plans call for the construction of a student dormitory and laboratory building, as well as a sports ground, cafeteria and green area.
The college operates under a dual education system. Students receive theoretical training at the college, while practical classes are held at major enterprises in the industrial zone. The format allows students to become familiar with production processes, modern equipment and technologies during their studies.
The college began operating in June 2026. It currently has 210 students. By 2030, annual enrollment is planned to increase to 1,800 students, while the total number of students is expected to reach 4,000. The number of educational programs is also planned to increase to 20.
During his visit, Mirziyoyev reviewed the conditions created for students and spoke with young people and the investor.
