Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Central Bank of Uzbekistan will begin selling commemorative coins dedicated to the 46th World Chess Olympiad, “Samarkand 2026,” on 24 September, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan reported.
The issue consists of two types of coins — gold and silver. The gold coins have a fineness of 999.9 and weigh 31.1 grams each. The mintage is limited to 100 pieces.
The silver coins also weigh 31.1 grams and have a fineness of 999.9. Their mintage will be 500 pieces.
The commemorative coins will be available for purchase at commercial banks and their branches. They can be purchased individually or as part of a two-coin collector’s set.
The Central Bank plans to publish information on the prices and availability of the coins at specific banks on its official website and social media pages in the near future.
