Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Specialists from Uzbekistan’s Tax Committee are participating in the 7th annual international conference of the Intra-European Organisation of Tax Administrations (IOTA), dedicated to cybersecurity and information protection. The event is being held in Budapest, Hungary, on 29-30 October 2026.
Participants are discussing ways to ensure the cybersecurity of tax authorities amid the digitalisation of public administration.
Key topics include modern methods of protecting information systems, identifying and preventing cyber threats, and using artificial intelligence to monitor potential threats and automate responses to information security incidents.
Separate sessions are devoted to assessing risks associated with the use of artificial intelligence in tax administration, securely managing digital infrastructure and improving cyber incident response mechanisms. Participants are also discussing ways to foster a culture of information security among tax authority employees.
Participation in the conference will give Tax Committee specialists an opportunity to learn about international experience and practical approaches to protecting information systems.
The knowledge gained is expected to be used to further improve the agency’s information security system, strengthen the resilience of its digital infrastructure against cyber threats and protect tax information as the range of public digital services expands.
