Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva held meetings with executives of the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) and Google in New York. The talks covered joint projects in transport and healthcare, as well as the possible launch of YouTube monetization in Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva said on her social media accounts.
The UN headquarters is hosting delegations from nearly 130 countries as part of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. Uzbekistan is also represented by a delegation participating in the general debate and listening to addresses by the heads of several states.
During her visit, Saida Mirziyoyeva met with DFC Chief Executive Officer Ben Black. The sides reviewed major joint projects in transport and healthcare that have already entered the implementation stage.
The Head of the Presidential Administration expressed Uzbekistan’s readiness to further expand cooperation with the DFC.
During talks with Google Vice President Karan Bhatia, the main focus was on the possibility of launching YouTube monetization in Uzbekistan.
According to Saida Mirziyoyeva, Uzbekistan has improved its legal framework for personal data processing and digital payments in recent years. She said these changes are creating conditions for wider use of international payment systems.
She also noted broad opportunities for developing a partnership with Google and emphasized that further work remains to be done in this area.
