Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) —  President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited a polytechnic college in Navbakhor district, Navoi region, where vocational education is actively developing to boost employment. Currently, 25 educational institutions operate across the region, providing training to 12,000 individuals under the guidance of qualified teachers and industrial trainers.

Polytechnic College No. 2 offers 41 classrooms, laboratories, assembly and sports halls, a dormitory, and a cafeteria. The programs encompass day, evening, correspondence, and dual education formats to accommodate learners of all ages.

Major local industries, including the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Complex and Navoiazot, play a significant role in training specialists. They have established on-site training departments, allowing students to gain hands-on experience while earning an income. Through partnerships with local communities and educational institutions, training programs are also provided to the unemployed, underqualified individuals, and women, with employment opportunities following successful completion.

President Mirziyoyev met with women currently enrolled in the polytechnic and highlighted the importance of confidence and career aspirations, reinforcing state support for professional development.

The college offers dual and short-term courses with textile companies Mengi Textile Group and Navbahor Qorajon, where women acquire skills for work in sewing workshops. Carpentry workshops and craft courses for people with disabilities are also available, alongside training centers for veterinary and livestock management set up by relevant authorities.

Since the beginning of the year, over 1,000 unemployed individuals have received training through agreements between Navoi educational institutions and 51 enterprises.
