Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzum Market experienced a major technical outage during the night of 8 October, affecting seller accounts, order pickup points and warehouse systems. Around the same time, Yandex Cloud reported a power supply disruption in one of the availability zones of its cloud platform.
Uzum said that due to technical problems at its warehouses and order acceptance points, goods were temporarily not being accepted and returns were not being issued. The company asked partners not to visit its warehouses for the time being.
All deliveries that could not be accepted because of the outage will be eligible for rescheduling to other time slots without penalties, the company said.
The Uzum team said it was aware of the problem and was working to resolve it. The company said it would provide further updates on changes to the operation of its services separately.
Meanwhile, Yandex Cloud reported a power supply disruption in the ru-central1-b availability zone, which made some cloud services unavailable. The company later said it had switched workloads to other zones. The ru-central1-b zone itself remained unavailable, while the creation of new resources could be restricted.
Against this backdrop, reports emerged of a fire in Sasovo, Ryazan region, where a Yandex data centre is located. Russian media linked the fire to a drone attack.
Yandex itself confirms that it has a data centre in Sasovo and says that its servers host, among others, Yandex Cloud customers.
A direct link between the fire in Sasovo and the disruption to Uzum Market has not been confirmed.
