Three Uzbek tennis players set for US Open 2026
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan could be represented by three women at the 2026 US Open, with Kamilla Rakhimova and Maria Timofeeva securing places in the main draw and Polina Kudermetova entering the qualifying tournament, the Uzbekistan Tennis Federation said.
Rakhimova is ranked 78th in the WTA rankings, while Timofeeva is 84th. Kudermetova, ranked 111th in the world, will begin her campaign in qualifying. If she successfully advances through the qualifying stage, she will also have a chance to enter the tournament’s main draw.
Uzbekistan could therefore set a record for the number of representatives in the women’s singles draw at a Grand Slam tournament. In previous years, Uzbekistan was represented in New York by Denis Istomin and Akgul Amanmuradova.
The 2026 US Open will be held in New York from 23 August to 13 September. The tournament’s prize fund will reach a record US$108 million. Players who reach the first round of the singles main draw will receive US$140,000.
